Identifier: U-Substitution

If you look down at your page and do not see an integral that can be done using your main antiderivative rules (constant, power rule, special case), then, on the AP Calculus AB exam, you are most likely looking at a u-substitution.

If you look down on your page and you see an integral that involves more than just adding or subtracting terms,

  • ( 3 x 2 + 10 x ) ( x 3 + 5 x 2 ) 3 dx
  • 1 6 6 x + 9 dx
  • 1 15 x 2 e ( 5 x 3 ) dx
  • 1 15 x 19 dx
